CHARON2HD: new high dynamic standard stacked platforms The CHARON2HD platform is the high dynamic version of the existing CHARON2 family. Using dedicated electronic configurations, all combinations ranging from a simple XY stage to a complete motion system comprising 7 axes are available. CHARON2HD is suited for a broad range of applications and use cases due to its compatibility with all current and future modules and options.
Z3TM+ : new combined module The Z3TM+ is enlarging the portfolio of modules serving motion platforms. This module adds four independent degrees of freedom, namely Tip, Tilt, Theta and Z axes embedded inside an enlarged theta hollow shaft. One configuration includes a Z axis that now features a double stacked Z axis; one fine (FZ) and one coarse (CZ). By design, this optional module enables complete fulfillment of wafer motion profiles for advanced semiconductor applications, thus providing OEMs with a turn-key solution for any semiconductor technology.
ACCURET+: compatibility with EnDat 3 and Multi-DOF encoders Conventional encoders can measure only one degree of freedom in the main measuring direction, while being blind to errors happening in other directions and therefore unable to compensate for them. The Dplus encoders from HEIDENHAIN, can measure multiple degrees of freedom on a single machine axis, thereby directly and precisely measuring errors and the machine deviations they cause. These encoders provide exceptional possibilities for optimizing your motion system, particularly when high dynamic performance and accuracy are called for. On top of the Multi-DOF measuring capability, the use of digital EnDat 3 interface offers the optimal solution for transmitting extended data content on just one cable. This permits convenient implementation of complex metrology system designs without extensive cabling. The ACCURET+ range is the first position controller in the semiconductor industry to be compatible with EnDat3 interface and to embed Multi-DOF control capabilities. This will surely enable machine makers to reach another level of precision in multi-axes motion systems by closing the control loops taking into account all degrees-of-freedom measured by this next generation of metrology equipment.
MWD+: new magnetic ways
The MWD+ is a new family of magnetic ways equipped with stronger magnets. The family is compatible with any existing LMG and LMS linear motor, enabling an average of 14% higher continuous and peak force compared to existing MWD product. Benefits of the product translate into higher force density per unit volume, allowing either to improve the overall duty cycle, or to run a given duty cycle at lower temperatures.
TBS: new linear axis
The TBS is a high precision linear axis with a 1 Degree Of Freedom. This is a mechanical bearing based indirect drive linear axis providing outstanding performance in term of accuracy and precision in its category. The axis is controlled by a high performance low cogging servomotor and it uses a dual encoder feedback control scheme, which, while providing excellent performance, simplifies as well its commissioning.
TUCANA ST and AQUARIUS ST: new short stroke actuator family
The TUCANA ST and AQUARIUS ST are the new generation of ETEL’s short stroke actuators primarily dedicated to “Test & Scan” turret handler applications. Compared to their predecessors (TUCANA and AQUARIUS), the ST series allows a higher force control repeatability and a higher throughput, reducing the final machine cost of ownership.
WINGLET: powerful software tool for automated test and simulation WINGLET is a PC based software, running on Windows operating system and designed to operate with equipment that are controlled by ETEL AccurET / UltimET controllers range. WINGLET addresses a wide range of users active anywhere along the path that starts at design phase in R&D and ends at the end-user’s equipment. From a pure machine performance enabler, WINGLET also brings significant benefits to automated testing procedures at OEMs’ production floor, as well as it helps streamline field services interventions and troubleshooting.
UltimET Advanced: new powerful motion controller
The UltimET Advanced is a powerful and versatile multi-axis motion controller reinforcing the existing UltimET family product portfolio from the high-end side. With the UltimET Advanced, not only ETEL brings a motion controller with outstanding intrinsic performance, but it brings also on the market a high level of flexibility in controlling advanced motion system with strategies that one can shape very precisely to match dedicated needs of various applications.
DXRH: new rotary module
The DXRH is the newest addition to ETEL rotary axes solutions. This is a 1 DOF mechanical bearing based rotary axis providing outstanding performance in terms of accuracy and precision. Featuring a 360’000 lines encoder and unmatched mechanical characteristics directly comparable with air bearing solution without the associated complexity, the DXRH is served at its heart by HEIDENHAIN best in class encoder and bearing technology, and ETEL direct drive technology toothless motor without any torque ripple.

VULCANO2: new modular standard family
The VULCANO2 is a new mechanical bearing stacked-axes architecture. It is a based solution allowing the users to reach higher throughput, duty cycles or to serve heavier payloads with no loss of repeatability or of accuracy. The standardized product are shaped with XY and XYT configurations which, thanks to footprint, allow easier drop-in solutions to equipment with lower dynamics stages.
Z3TM : new combined module
The Z3TM is enlarging the portfolio of modules serving motion platforms. This module adds four independent degrees of freedom, namely along one rotary, one vertical and two oblique axes. By design, this optional module enables complete fulfillment of wafer motion profiles for advanced semiconductor applications, thus providing OEMs with a turn-key solution for any semiconductor technology.
CHARON2: Extension of the platform family
ETEL extends its stacked platform family by adding a new standard stroke to the existing platforms as well as new configurations with X, XT, XZ3TM and XYZ3TM.
TELICA: new dual gantry motion system
TELICA is a new multi-axes platform primarily dedicated to semiconductor back-end applications. It is a dual gantry architecture providing motion along 3 degrees of freedom, X, Y and Z, for a total number of 8 controlled axes. It is designed to fulfill the most challenging requirements of advanced die bonding processes (Flip-chip, Fan-out, 3D stacked packages), µ-LED bonding, dispensing applications and more.
New IL+ ironless linear motors
ETEL launches a renewed ironless linear motor product range by introducing the IL+ technology on the famous ILF and ILM linear motors. These motors, named ILF+ and ILM+, replace the former one with similar footprint and integration concept while providing improved performance, more variants and a more economical solution.
EtherCAT on AccurET
All AccurET modular controllers are now compatible with EtherCAT communication bus. It brings the features of high-end controllers in your machine with minimal integration effort making the performance gains visible straightaway.
TMB+: Closed cooling family
All the TMB+ torque motors are now available with an optional cooling jacket. The jacket is available with radial or axial water inlet/outlet to accommodate any machine design. ETEL is providing a solution that removes the burden of water tightness from the machine designers.
CHARON2: New modular standard platform CHARON2 is a new semiconductor-oriented XY, XYT, ..., stacked system, backward compatible with existing modules and options. CHARON2 design extends CHARON use cases into the space of higher dynamics and larger payloads, with further improvement on accuracy and repeatability.
New short stroke actuator ETEL is pleased to announce its new ZAO force controlled actuator as entering its already broad range of advanced motion systems.It is an actuator featuring a frictionless bearing arrangement and a light moving mass, ensuring very low and repeatable force application as well as low force overshoot at impact on a contact surface.
New IMTHP variant
ETEL is introducing a new variant of its IMTHP (temperature monitoring device) that will provide the same functionality as the existing one but fully based on PT1000 sensors (reading & emulating) instead of KTYs.
A new member of the module portfolio
ETEL is proud to officially introduce the DXR+ as a new member of its module portfolio.
The DXR+ is a rotary module featuring a compact design, light mass, large hollow shaft and providing the right performance to cost ratio for mid-end applications in semiconductor and electronics. This product enlarges the number of modules that can sit on top of the existing XY platforms. The DXR+ brings major improvements in terms of stiffness which has a direct impact on the control bandwidth of the XY stage that is supporting it.
New LMG and LMS size
ETEL extends its existing LMG and LMS linear motors families with the LMG20 and LMS20 range. These 6 new motors (available with two different winding types except for LMS20-100) are new alternatives for many linear motor applications.
AccurET VHP – Very High Performance Controllers
ETEL designed the AccurET VHP to reach sub-nanometer position stability combined with extremely low tracking errors during dynamic motions and to control the most demanding axes in terms of speed accuracy. AccurET VHP range will be shown, for the first time, at SPS/IPC Drives in Nuremberg (Germany) in November 2016.

Addressing new technological challenges that push back the limits of the impossible has always been part of ETEL’s sources of inspiration and innovation. Today ETEL is proud of its contribution to the Solar Impulse project that combines the most advanced scientific knowledge in terms of aeronautics, materials, photovoltaic energy, and electrical motors. What used to be a dream is now a great success that will certainly open doors to major steps in aeronautics. In fact, flying days and nights without fuel is now proven to be achievable.
ETEL torque motors powered the ultra-lightweight revolutionary airplane for more than 500 hours of flying around the globe in the most demanding environmental conditions. The torque motors as well as all other components had to work from ground temperatures to extreme conditions at more than 8000 meters altitude (~26’000 feet) without any compromise or uncertainty on their performance and reliability. All along the incredible human challenge that the pilots faced and during record-breaking flight times, ETEL torque motors operated safely to ensuring their safety and finally contribute to the success of this incredible challenge.
New Vulcano XY: the modular standard platform
ETEL is proud to present its new VULCANO XY system – a three-piece-design allowing a compact and cost engineered solution, coupled to mechanical bearings and high-end optical encoders. This platform can easily be coupled with a rotary module or the brand new Z3TH combined module. This latter provides a Tip and Tilt correction, a double Z-axes, 364° Theta rotation and 4 degrees of freedom.

TMB+: New torque motors family
ETEL is renewing its torque motor product range by adding a new motor type, the TMB+. TMB+ is an evolution of the renowned TMB Torque Motor that provides a combination of increased performance and new features while maintaining the interfaces of existing motors. TMB+ will be unveiled during the IMTS 2016 machine tool exhibition in Chicago, IL, USA, in September.
RTMBi: Next-generation of indexing table
