ACCURET+: ultimate performance in motion control

The new ACCURET+ stands for ultimate performance, a demonstration of ETEL’s finest tradition in motion control. After years of success with the AccurET family, the ACCURET+ represents the 4th generation of position controllers designed to support another decade of ever demanding advanced motion control applications. The first two members of the portfolio are the ACCURET+100 and the ACCURET+300. These controllers are compatible with all members of the AccurET family with a wider range of current levels in the same modular design.

This design renders the integration of the ACCURET+ position controllers in the machine very easy and offers a very compact solution:

  • Each controller can drive two axes and a single power supply can be used for multiple ACCURET+ sharing the same DC bus voltage.
  • A wider form-factor version is available allowing the insertion of optional boards, such as the ULTIMET LIGHT TCP/IP motion controller.
  • Simplified power and communication wiring as well as a compact cooling unit, make the machine installation and maintenance easy to perform.
  • No rack is needed, making the required volume only dependent on the number of driven axes.

  • High signal-to-noise ratio current loop: parasitic motions can be avoided due to the low noise current regulation, yet also capable of driving high current levels required during accelerations. In addition, its high bandwidth allows it to:
    - Maximize the bandwidth of the position loop.
    - Benefit from advanced feedforward and better compensate for friction, viscosity, as well as repeatable perturbations
    such as cogging, etc.
  • ETEL’s advanced position and current regulators provide all you need to get the maximum performance out of your mechanical design.

Altogether, ACCURET+ position controllers minimize errors during axes motion and, therefore, dramatically reduce the settling time.

Advanced features

  • 3D mapping: compensate for repeatable errors such as mechanical inaccuracies.
  • External signals management: e.g., fast position capture or fast trigger (1D and 2D) allows the management of other devices such as laser, camera, etc. They can either be based on the real or theoretical position of the axis, or time based depending on application’s requirement.
  • High speed and high accuracy applications: the trajectory filter function is an enhanced vibration suppression function that can be used to reduce the machine’s vibrations and, ultimately, shorten the settling time. It is designed to mitigate motion induced vibrations that impact the machine’s positioning performance at the tool point.
  • “Customizable” behavior using ETEL’s structured programming language: user defined “macro” functions allow machine builders to customize their position controller for their end process. For more performance, each controller can run up to two programs (sequences) in parallel, independently of each other. As an example, one sequence can process distance measurements to control the axis motion such as to maintain a constant gap to a given surface, while another sequence running in parallel takes care of the error handling for the same axis.
  • Integrated protection and diagnostics: Functional Safety (STO - Safe Torque Off: SIL3, Cat. 3, PLd), stage protection to handle very fast and controlled axis stop, overtemperature, overcurrent and overvoltage detection, detection of loss of position feedback, etc. allowing the user to build a reliable machine.
  • EnDat 3 Multi-DOF: in addition to the standard encoders available on the market, such as analog 1 Vpp, TTL, digital EnDat 2.2 and EnDat 3, the ACCURET+ controllers are able to read EnDat 3 Multi-DOF encoders up to three positions (typ. X-Y-Rz).
