We are looking for

A curious, methodic and organized person with a strong interest in embedded systems, cybersecurity and software architecture. Team player with a high level of autonomy, analytical thinking and good communication skills.

Your tasks

You will investigate and evaluate technologies that can improve the security of ETEL’s future motion control products.

  • Study of firmware protection mechanisms
    • Perform a state-of-the-art review of embedded security technologies.
    • Investigate security features available on modern microcontrollers and processors.
    • Compare different approaches used in industrial and embedded systems.
  • Secure Boot evaluation
    • Study Secure Boot architectures and chains of trust.
    • Implement proof-of-concept solutions on selected hardware platforms.
    • Evaluate implementation complexity, maintenance requirements and security benefits.
  • Firmware Security and Protection
    • Study firmware signing, encryption, and secure key management techniques.
    • Develop and validate proof-of-concept solutions for firmware authentication, integrity, and confidentiality.
    • Assess their effectiveness and suitability for future ETEL motion control products.
Your profile
  • Bachelor or Master student in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering or Electronics Engineering.
  • Good programming skills in C/C++.
  • Interest in embedded systems, computer architecture and cybersecurity.
  • Familiarity with microcontrollers and debugging tools is a plus.
  • Knowledge of cryptography, secure boot or secure communications is a plus.
  • Fluent in English. French is a plus.
