UltimET light: Powerful motion controller for multi-axis applications
UltimET Light Motion Controller is the Master on the TransnET bus and can manage up to 63 axes. More significantly, the communication performances will be the same no matter the number of axes. The UltimET covers the most demanding multi-axis applications thanks to its real-time 1Gbit TransnET communication bus.
To provide the best price/performance solution to its customer, two versions are available:
UltimET light smart gateway version for price sensitive applications requiring synchronized movements
UltimET light interpolation version, best suited for interpolated movements.
MOTION CONTROL CAPABILITIES
Master of the 1Gbit real-time communication bus called TransnET

High level interpolation: Trajectory calculation algorithms implemented: LKT, G-code based, ULM, PVT, PT up to 2x4 axes simultaneous interpolation

Trace pre / post trigger functionalities
Advanced control feature require UltimET as a TransnET master. For example, 3D mapping requires Slave to Slave communication in order to perform corrections on each axis of the stage.
HARDWARE CHARACTERISTICS
Form factor ideal to reduce machine footprint: PCI version, well suited for high speed application requiring real-time deterministic communication TCP/IP version embedded in an AccurET position controller. This configuration is best for stand-alone machines, in which the motion control application is distant from the PC controlling the machine.
2 models are available for each form factor, enabling multi-axis synchronization only or multi-axis synchronization and interpolated trajectories

TransnET: Real-time 1Gbit communication bus
 TransnET is a Gigabit Ethernet based field bus designed to be the communication channel in ETEL distributed motion control architecture. TransnET manages the real-time commands between UltimET Light Motion Controller and AccurET Position Controllers driving up to 63 motors at the same time. It allows handling highly reliable deterministic synchronization and interpolation.
TransnET also offers the following features:
Simultaneous data exchange is not only true for simple move, but also for synchronized and interpolated ones
All data exchange can be performed within one single cycle time: Motion to position controllers Position to position controllers
Full synchronization of all cycles (PWM, current, position and drive cycle time) with nanosecond jitter
TransnET allows up to 63 nodes in the same application, and includes a node error detection feature (a node being a device on TransnET)
Based on standard Ethernet components
Cycle time of 100 µsec
